Description
A refreshing and naturally sweet juice made with watermelon, fresh orange juice, ginger, and turmeric. This vibrant blended drink is smooth, flavorful, and perfect for a cooling breakfast or afternoon refreshment.
Ingredients
18 oz freshly squeezed orange juice (from about 6 oranges)
7 cups cubed watermelon
1 approximately 3-inch knob peeled ginger root
3/4 to 1 teaspoon ground turmeric
Instructions
- Juice the oranges until you have 18 ounces of fresh orange juice.
- Place the cubed watermelon into a blender.
- Add the peeled ginger root and ground turmeric.
- Pour the freshly squeezed orange juice into the blender.
- Blend until the watermelon is completely liquefied and the mixture is very smooth.
- Pour the juice through a fine-mesh strainer to remove pulp and any remaining ginger pieces.
- Chill before serving and enjoy cold.
Notes
Add a squeeze of lemon or lime juice for extra brightness.
Substitute fresh turmeric root for ground turmeric when available.
Blend in a few mint leaves for a cooling flavor.
Add a pinch of black pepper to complement the turmeric.
Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days and shake before serving.
Freeze in ice cube trays or freezer-safe containers for up to 3 months.
