Description
Salted Honey Pistachio Brie Puff Pastry is an elegant appetizer featuring creamy, melty brie wrapped in flaky puff pastry, topped with sweet honey, crunchy pistachios, and a sprinkle of sea salt for a perfect sweet and salty balance.
Ingredients
1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
1 round brie cheese (about 8 ounces)
½ cup unsalted pistachios, chopped
¼ cup honey
½ teaspoon sea salt
1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
Fresh herbs (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- On a lightly floured surface, roll out puff pastry to smooth any folds. Cut a circle large enough to fully wrap around the brie.
- Place brie in the center of the pastry. Drizzle honey evenly over the top.
- Sprinkle chopped pistachios generously over the honey.
- Evenly sprinkle sea salt over the pistachios.
- Fold the pastry over the brie, pinching seams tightly to seal.
- Brush the pastry with beaten egg for a golden finish.
- Place on a baking sheet and bake for 20–25 minutes until pastry is puffed and golden brown.
- Let cool slightly before serving to allow the cheese to set.
- Garnish with fresh herbs if desired.
Notes
Substitute pistachios with walnuts or pecans for different nutty flavors.
Add fresh thyme or rosemary under the pastry for herbal aroma.
Drizzle with balsamic glaze before serving for a tangy contrast.
Wrap in prosciutto before encasing in pastry for extra savory layer.
Best enjoyed fresh, leftovers can be refrigerated up to 2 days.
Reheat in a 350°F (175°C) oven for 10 minutes to restore crispness and warmth.
