Description
These elegant puff pastry appetizers combine flaky golden pastry, sweet fruit jam, and tangy goat cheese for an easy yet impressive party snack. Perfect for holidays, brunches, and entertaining, they come together in under 30 minutes.
Ingredients
1 piece (1/2 of a 17.3 oz box) puff pastry, defrosted according to package directions
1/4 cup apricot or strawberry jam (or favorite jam)
1 oz crumbled goat cheese
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F.
- Lightly flour a countertop or flat surface and unroll the defrosted puff pastry.
- Gently pat the seams to remove any creases.
- Cut the pastry into 2×2-inch squares using a pizza cutter or knife.
- Place each square into a miniature muffin pan cup and gently press the center to form a loose cup.
- Add 1/2 teaspoon of jam to each pastry cup.
- Top with 1 teaspoon of crumbled goat cheese.
- Bake for 14–18 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown.
- Cool in the pan for 1 minute.
- Carefully remove from the pan and serve warm or at room temperature.
Notes
Use raspberry, blackberry, fig, peach, or cherry jam for different flavor combinations.
Substitute goat cheese with blue cheese, feta, brie, or cream cheese if desired.
Add chopped walnuts or pecans for extra crunch.
Prepare pastry cups in the muffin tin up to 1 day ahead and refrigerate before filling and baking.
Store leftovers in the refrigerator the same day and reheat at 350°F for 3–4 minutes.
Serve warm for the best texture and flavor.
