Description

This Homemade Pub Cheese Spread is a creamy, tangy dip that’s perfect for gatherings, game days, or as a savory snack. Featuring a blend of sharp cheddar, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, and a touch of non-alcoholic broth, this flavorful spread is sure to impress your guests. Enjoy it with crackers, pretzels, veggies, or even as a sandwich spread.

Ingredients

  • 6 ounces vegetable or non-alcoholic broth (room temperature)
  • 8 ounces mild cheddar cheese, freshly grated
  • 8 ounces sharp cheddar cheese, freshly grated
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon hot sauce (optional)
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  • Grate the Cheeses: Grate both mild and sharp cheddar cheeses using a box grater or food processor.
  • Combine Ingredients: In a food processor, combine the grated cheeses, minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, hot sauce (if using), and freshly ground black pepper.
  • Add Broth: With the food processor running, slowly pour in the room temperature broth and continue processing until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
  • Adjust Consistency: If the spread is too thick, add more broth, a tablespoon at a time, until the desired consistency is reached.
  • Chill: Transfer the pub cheese to a serving bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  • Serve: Serve chilled with crackers, pretzels, fresh veggies, or use as a sandwich spread.

Notes

  • Spicy Kick: For added heat, add a teaspoon of hot sauce or a pinch of cayenne pepper.
  • Herb Infusion: Stir in fresh herbs like chives or parsley for extra flavor.
  • Smoked Flavor: Use smoked cheddar or add a few drops of liquid smoke for a smoky twist.
  • Storage: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
