These Garlic Bread Rolls are soft, fluffy, and infused with the rich flavor of garlic and fresh herbs. Brushed with a fragrant garlic herb butter after baking, they make the perfect side dish for any meal, especially during holidays like Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter.
Ingredients
- 4½ tablespoons unsalted butter
- 2 tablespoons minced garlic
- 3½ cups + 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
- 3 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
- 2¼ teaspoons instant yeast
- 1 teaspoon fine sea salt
- 1 cup whole or 2% milk, warmed to 110°F
- 1 large egg, room temperature
- 1 beaten egg, for brushing the tops
Instructions
- Prepare Garlic Butter – Melt butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. Add garlic and sauté until fragrant. Remove from heat and set aside to cool.
- Mix Dry Ingredients – In a large bowl, combine flour, parsley, sugar, yeast, and salt.
- Add Wet Ingredients – Create a well in the center of the dry ingredients and add the warmed milk, cooled garlic butter, and egg. Stir until a dough forms.
- Knead the Dough – Transfer dough to a floured surface and knead for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- First Rise – Place dough in an oiled bowl, cover, and let rise for 1-2 hours, or until doubled in size.
- Shape the Rolls – Punch down the dough and divide into 12 portions. Shape into balls and place in a greased 9×13-inch baking pan.
- Second Rise – Cover and let the dough rise for 30-45 minutes, until doubled in size.
- Preheat Oven – Preheat to 375°F (190°C).
- Bake – Brush rolls with a beaten egg and bake for 20-25 minutes, until golden brown.
- Brush with Garlic Butter – Immediately brush with additional garlic butter after baking.
- Cool and Serve – Let rolls cool slightly before serving warm.
