Description

This easy peach tea combines homemade peach syrup with freshly brewed tea for a sweet, refreshing drink. Perfect served over ice on warm days, it delivers bright peach flavor in every sip.

Ingredients

1 cup sugar

1 cup water

23 fresh peaches, sliced

3 tea bags

6 cups water

Ice, for serving

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, combine the sugar, 1 cup water, and sliced peaches. Bring to a boil.
  2. Reduce the heat to medium and crush the peach slices while stirring until the sugar dissolves.
  3. Turn off the heat, cover, and let the syrup sit for 30 minutes.
  4. Bring 6 cups water to a boil and steep the tea bags for 5 minutes.
  5. Remove the tea bags and refrigerate the tea until chilled.
  6. Strain the peach syrup through a fine mesh strainer, discarding the solids.
  7. Stir the peach syrup into the chilled tea.
  8. Serve over ice and garnish with fresh peach slices or mint if desired.

Notes

Use black tea for a classic flavor or green tea for a lighter version.

Add a splash of lemon juice for a brighter taste.

Store covered in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.

Stir before serving if separation occurs.

Frozen peaches can be substituted for fresh peaches.
