Description
This easy peach tea combines homemade peach syrup with freshly brewed tea for a sweet, refreshing drink. Perfect served over ice on warm days, it delivers bright peach flavor in every sip.
Ingredients
1 cup sugar
1 cup water
2–3 fresh peaches, sliced
3 tea bags
6 cups water
Ice, for serving
Instructions
- In a saucepan, combine the sugar, 1 cup water, and sliced peaches. Bring to a boil.
- Reduce the heat to medium and crush the peach slices while stirring until the sugar dissolves.
- Turn off the heat, cover, and let the syrup sit for 30 minutes.
- Bring 6 cups water to a boil and steep the tea bags for 5 minutes.
- Remove the tea bags and refrigerate the tea until chilled.
- Strain the peach syrup through a fine mesh strainer, discarding the solids.
- Stir the peach syrup into the chilled tea.
- Serve over ice and garnish with fresh peach slices or mint if desired.
Notes
Use black tea for a classic flavor or green tea for a lighter version.
Add a splash of lemon juice for a brighter taste.
Store covered in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
Stir before serving if separation occurs.
Frozen peaches can be substituted for fresh peaches.
