Ingredients
1/2 cup (113g) unsalted butter, softened to room temperature
1/2 cup (100g) light brown sugar, packed
1/4 cup (50g) granulated sugar
1 large egg
1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups (190g) all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
3/4 cup (90g) dried cranberries
3/4 cup (130g) white chocolate chips or chunks
1/4 tsp orange zest (optional)
Instructions
- Cream together softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar in a large bowl until light and fluffy.
- Mix in the egg and vanilla extract until creamy.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
- Fold in dried cranberries, white chocolate chips, and optional orange zest.
- Cover and chill dough for 30 minutes (optional, but helps cookies hold shape).
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough, place 2 inches apart on baking sheet, and bake for 9–11 minutes until edges are set and centers remain soft.
- Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
Add pecans or walnuts for extra crunch.
Drizzle cooled cookies with melted white chocolate for extra sweetness.
Swap in dark or milk chocolate for a different flavor profile.
For more citrus flavor, increase orange zest or add lemon zest.
To keep cookies soft, store with a slice of bread in the container.
