Description

White Cheddar & Spinach Chicken Burgers are juicy, flavorful patties packed with lean ground chicken, fresh spinach, and melted white cheddar cheese. They offer a wholesome and satisfying alternative to traditional beef burgers, perfect for quick meals or meal prepping.

Ingredients

1 lb (450g) ground chicken (or turkey)

1 cup fresh spinach, finely chopped

½ cup shredded white cheddar cheese

¼ cup breadcrumbs (or almond flour for low-carb)

1 egg

2 garlic cloves, minced

1 tsp onion powder

½ tsp salt

½ tsp black pepper

For Serving: 4 burger buns (brioche, whole wheat, or lettuce wraps)

Toppings: Avocado, tomato, red onion, mayo, or Dijon mustard

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground chicken, chopped spinach, shredded white cheddar, breadcrumbs, egg, minced garlic, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently until well combined.
  2. Divide mixture into four equal portions and shape each into a ¾-inch thick patty.
  3. Heat skillet over medium-high heat with a drizzle of olive oil. Cook patties for 5–6 minutes per side until internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  4. Toast burger buns lightly. Place cooked patties on buns and add desired toppings.
  5. Serve hot with your favorite sides.

Notes

For a spicy kick, add red pepper flakes or hot sauce to the mixture.

Try different cheeses like pepper jack, mozzarella, or Gruyère.

Grill the patties instead of pan-frying for a smoky flavor.

Add lemon zest and fresh herbs like parsley or dill for a fresh twist.

Incorporate Asian flavors with soy sauce, ginger, and sesame oil.
