Description
These **Turkey Pinwheels** are a quick and easy appetizer or snack, featuring a savory cream cheese spread, lean turkey, fresh veggies, and optional cheese, all rolled up in a soft flour tortilla. Perfect for any occasion, they are customizable, healthy, and packed with flavor!
Ingredients
4 large flour tortillas
8 ounces cream cheese, softened
12 ounces sliced turkey breast
1 cup fresh spinach or lettuce
1 cup shredded carrots
1 cup bell pepper, sliced thin
½ teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon onion powder
Salt and pepper to taste
Optional: 1 cup cheese (cheddar or mozzarella), sliced for added flavor
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix the softened cream cheese with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper until well combined.
- Place one flour tortilla on a clean, flat surface.
- Spread a generous layer of the cream cheese mixture evenly over the tortilla, leaving a small border around the edges.
- Layer slices of turkey, followed by spinach or lettuce. Then add shredded carrots and bell pepper slices for extra crunch.
- If using cheese, add it on top of the veggies.
- Start at one edge of the tortilla and slowly roll it away from you, keeping the filling tightly packed. Roll until you reach the edge, ensuring everything is enclosed.
- Use a sharp knife to slice the roll into 1-inch thick pieces. Arrange them cut-side-up on a serving platter.
- Repeat with the remaining tortillas and fillings.
- For best results, cover the pinwheels with plastic wrap and refrigerate them for about 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
Notes
Use whole wheat, gluten-free tortillas, or lettuce wraps for a lighter version.
Experiment with adding extras like cucumbers, avocado, or olives for added flavor.
For a spicy twist, add hot sauce or jalapeño slices.
