Description

Traeger Pizza Meatloaf is a mouthwatering fusion of classic Italian pizza and savory meatloaf, smoked to perfection on a Traeger grill. Ground beef and chicken are combined with Italian seasoning, mozzarella, and mini pepperoni, then topped with marinara sauce and more cheese for an unforgettable flavor experience. Perfect for pizza lovers, this easy recipe is ideal for a weeknight dinner or a cozy family gathering.

Ingredients

1 1/2 pounds ground beef

1/2 pound ground chicken

1 cup Italian breadcrumbs

2 eggs, beaten

1/2 cup marinara sauce (plus extra for topping)

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1/2 cup mini pepperoni slices

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Salt and pepper to taste

Extra mozzarella and pepperoni for topping

Instructions

  • Preheat the Traeger grill to 250°F (121°C) using oak or hickory pellets.

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, ground chicken, breadcrumbs, eggs, marinara sauce, mozzarella, mini pepperoni, garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined.

  • Shape the meat mixture into a loaf and place it on a grill-safe pan or sheet.

  • Smoke the meatloaf for 2-3 hours until the internal temperature reaches 155°F (68°C).

  • Top the meatloaf with extra marinara sauce, mozzarella, and mini pepperoni slices.

  • Continue smoking for another 20-30 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) and the cheese is melted.

  • Allow the meatloaf to rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

For added pizza flavor, consider topping with sautéed mushrooms, olives, or bell peppers.

Use a probe thermometer to ensure the meatloaf reaches 165°F (74°C) for safe consumption.

Make sure to rest the meatloaf for 10 minutes after cooking to maintain moisture and texture.
