Description

This Tomato and Onion Salad is a refreshing and easy side dish that comes together in just 10 minutes. With juicy tomatoes, sweet onions, and a tangy dressing, it’s a perfect addition to any meal, especially during the summer months.

Ingredients

  • large tomatoes
  • medium sweet onion
  • olive oil
  • vinegar
  • oregano (or 2-3 dried Italian herbs)
  • salt
  • black pepper
  • sea salt flakes (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cut the tomatoes into 6 wedges each and slice the sweet onion into half moons. Place them into a large bowl.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, vinegar, oregano (or Italian herbs), salt, and black pepper to taste.
  3. Pour the dressing over the tomatoes and onions and toss gently to coat them evenly.
  4. Sprinkle sea salt flakes on top for an extra burst of flavor, then serve immediately.

Notes

  • For added flavor, include sliced cucumbers, bell peppers, or fresh herbs like basil or parsley.
  • Add crumbled feta or fresh mozzarella for a creamy contrast.
  • For a spicy kick, add red pepper flakes or chopped jalapeños.
