Description

This viral TikTok egg boil recipe elevates the classic boiled egg by pairing it with a rich, savory seafood boil-style sauce, customizable to suit your taste. Simple, quick, and packed with flavor.

Ingredients

6 eggs

1 ½ tbsp unsalted butter

¼ cup garlic, minced

2 ¼ tsp seafood seasoning

1 ½ tsp lemon pepper seasoning

½ tsp onion powder

1 tsp paprika

3 tsp brown sugar

½ tsp red chili flakes

¾ cup low-sodium vegetable broth

¼ cup fresh lemon juice

Salt to taste

Parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Gather all the ingredients and prepare a bowl of cold water with ice cubes for the ice bath.
  2. Bring a pot of water to a boil, enough to cover the eggs. Boil the eggs to your desired doneness.
  3. Once boiled, remove the eggs from the pot and place them in the ice bath for a few minutes to cool. Peel the eggs under running water to remove all the shell pieces.
  4. Set the peeled eggs aside and dry them with a paper towel.
  5. In a skillet, melt the butter over low heat and sauté the minced garlic for about 1 minute.
  6. Add the seafood seasoning, lemon pepper, onion powder, paprika, brown sugar, and red chili flakes. Stir for another minute to combine.
  7. Pour in the vegetable broth and bring the mixture to medium-high heat. Let the sauce simmer and thicken slightly.
  8. Stir in the fresh lemon juice and adjust the sauce’s consistency with water if necessary.
  9. Taste the sauce and adjust the seasoning as needed.
  10. Serve the boiled eggs in a bowl, pour the sauce over them, and garnish with chopped parsley.

Notes

For a spicier version, increase the red chili flakes or add a dash of hot sauce.

For a milder flavor, skip the red chili flakes and reduce the paprika.

For a vegetarian option, replace seafood seasoning with a vegetarian blend or herbs.

Add shrimp, sausage, or corn to make the dish more substantial.

Store leftover sauce in the fridge for up to 3 days.

Reheat the sauce gently, adding water or broth to adjust the consistency.

Boiled eggs are best eaten fresh but can be stored for up to 2 days in the fridge.
