Description
This viral TikTok egg boil recipe elevates the classic boiled egg by pairing it with a rich, savory seafood boil-style sauce, customizable to suit your taste. Simple, quick, and packed with flavor.
Ingredients
6 eggs
1 ½ tbsp unsalted butter
¼ cup garlic, minced
2 ¼ tsp seafood seasoning
1 ½ tsp lemon pepper seasoning
½ tsp onion powder
1 tsp paprika
3 tsp brown sugar
½ tsp red chili flakes
¾ cup low-sodium vegetable broth
¼ cup fresh lemon juice
Salt to taste
Parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Gather all the ingredients and prepare a bowl of cold water with ice cubes for the ice bath.
- Bring a pot of water to a boil, enough to cover the eggs. Boil the eggs to your desired doneness.
- Once boiled, remove the eggs from the pot and place them in the ice bath for a few minutes to cool. Peel the eggs under running water to remove all the shell pieces.
- Set the peeled eggs aside and dry them with a paper towel.
- In a skillet, melt the butter over low heat and sauté the minced garlic for about 1 minute.
- Add the seafood seasoning, lemon pepper, onion powder, paprika, brown sugar, and red chili flakes. Stir for another minute to combine.
- Pour in the vegetable broth and bring the mixture to medium-high heat. Let the sauce simmer and thicken slightly.
- Stir in the fresh lemon juice and adjust the sauce’s consistency with water if necessary.
- Taste the sauce and adjust the seasoning as needed.
- Serve the boiled eggs in a bowl, pour the sauce over them, and garnish with chopped parsley.
Notes
For a spicier version, increase the red chili flakes or add a dash of hot sauce.
For a milder flavor, skip the red chili flakes and reduce the paprika.
For a vegetarian option, replace seafood seasoning with a vegetarian blend or herbs.
Add shrimp, sausage, or corn to make the dish more substantial.
Store leftover sauce in the fridge for up to 3 days.
Reheat the sauce gently, adding water or broth to adjust the consistency.
Boiled eggs are best eaten fresh but can be stored for up to 2 days in the fridge.
