Bold and juicy tandoori shrimp marinated in yogurt, citrus, and warm spices, then grilled quickly for a vibrant, smoky dish that’s perfect for easy outdoor cooking.
Ingredients
2 lbs large shrimp, peeled and deveined
2.5 tablespoons tandoori seasoning
1/4 cup plain yogurt
1 tablespoon orange juice
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 tablespoon lime juice
Chopped fresh cilantro, for garnish
Lime juice, for garnish
Lemon juice, for garnish
Instructions
- Place the shrimp in a large bowl.
- Add tandoori seasoning, yogurt, orange juice, lemon juice, and lime juice.
- Mix well until shrimp are evenly coated.
- Refrigerate for 15 minutes, but no longer than 30 minutes.
- Preheat grill to high heat (about 400°F) and oil the grill grates or basket.
- Grill shrimp for 2–3 minutes per side until lightly charred and just cooked through.
- Remove shrimp from grill and rest for 1 minute.
- Finish with chopped cilantro, fresh lime juice, and lemon juice.
- Serve immediately while hot.
Notes
Do not over-marinate, as citrus can break down the shrimp.
Frozen shrimp work well if fully thawed and dried.
Can be cooked on a grill pan or cast iron skillet indoors.
Skewering shrimp is a great alternative to a grill basket.
Dairy-free yogurt can be substituted if needed.
