Description

Bold and juicy tandoori shrimp marinated in yogurt, citrus, and warm spices, then grilled quickly for a vibrant, smoky dish that’s perfect for easy outdoor cooking.


Ingredients

2 lbs large shrimp, peeled and deveined

2.5 tablespoons tandoori seasoning

1/4 cup plain yogurt

1 tablespoon orange juice

1 tablespoon lemon juice

1 tablespoon lime juice

Chopped fresh cilantro, for garnish

Lime juice, for garnish

Lemon juice, for garnish


Instructions

  1. Place the shrimp in a large bowl.
  2. Add tandoori seasoning, yogurt, orange juice, lemon juice, and lime juice.
  3. Mix well until shrimp are evenly coated.
  4. Refrigerate for 15 minutes, but no longer than 30 minutes.
  5. Preheat grill to high heat (about 400°F) and oil the grill grates or basket.
  6. Grill shrimp for 2–3 minutes per side until lightly charred and just cooked through.
  7. Remove shrimp from grill and rest for 1 minute.
  8. Finish with chopped cilantro, fresh lime juice, and lemon juice.
  9. Serve immediately while hot.

Notes

Do not over-marinate, as citrus can break down the shrimp.

Frozen shrimp work well if fully thawed and dried.

Can be cooked on a grill pan or cast iron skillet indoors.

Skewering shrimp is a great alternative to a grill basket.

Dairy-free yogurt can be substituted if needed.
