Description

Taco Pie combines the best flavors of tacos into a comforting pie. With a flaky crescent roll crust, seasoned ground beef, sour cream, and melted cheese, this easy-to-make dish is perfect for busy nights. Add some crunchy tortilla chips on top for extra texture, and you’ve got a crowd-pleasing meal!

Ingredients

1 (8 ounce) package refrigerated crescent rolls

1 pound ground beef

1 (1 ounce) package taco seasoning mix

1 (16 ounce) container sour cream

8 ounces shredded Mexican-style cheese blend

1 (14 ounce) bag tortilla chips, crushed (or to taste)

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

  • Unroll the crescent dough and lay it flat in the bottom of a 9-inch square baking pan. Bake for about 10 minutes until golden brown.

  • While the crust is baking, cook the ground beef and chopped onion in a large skillet over medium-high heat for 5-7 minutes until browned and crumbly. Stir in taco seasoning according to package instructions.

  • Once the crust is done, spoon the beef mixture onto the prebaked crust.

  • Spread a layer of sour cream over the beef, followed by a generous sprinkle of shredded cheese.

  • Top with crushed tortilla chips for added crunch.

  • Return to the oven and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

  • Let the Taco Pie cool slightly before slicing. Serve with your favorite taco toppings like lettuce, tomatoes, or black olives.

Notes

Vegetarian Version: Swap the ground beef for black beans or lentils to make this dish vegetarian.

Cheese Variations: Cheddar, mozzarella, or a blend of your favorite cheeses can be used.

Add Veggies: Bell peppers, onions, or corn make great additions to the beef mixture.

Extra Spice: Add chopped jalapeños or use a spicier taco seasoning mix to heat things up!
