Description

Strawberry Glaze is a sweet, tangy topping made with real strawberries, sugar, and strawberry gelatin, perfect for desserts and breakfast dishes.

Ingredients

2 cups water

1 ½ cups sugar

1.5 ounces strawberry gelatin (half a 3-ounce package)

¾ cup cornstarch

2 teaspoons red food coloring

1 pound strawberries, hulled and sliced

Instructions

  1. In a medium pot, combine 1 ½ cups water, sugar, and strawberry gelatin. Whisk until combined and bring to a boil over medium heat.
  2. Whisk remaining ½ cup water with cornstarch until smooth. Slowly pour into boiling pot, whisking constantly.
  3. Keep whisking for 4-5 minutes until sauce thickens.
  4. Remove from heat and whisk in red food coloring.
  5. Let glaze cool completely, then gently fold in sliced strawberries.

Notes

Use honey or maple syrup instead of sugar for a different sweetness.

Skip or substitute red food coloring with natural alternatives like beet juice.

Add other berries like blueberries or raspberries for a mixed berry glaze.
