Description

Shrimp Francesca is an elegant seafood dish with shrimp cooked in a creamy, lemony sauce, offering a perfect balance of savory and citrusy flavors. This quick and easy recipe is ideal for a special occasion or weeknight dinner and pairs beautifully with pasta, rice, or a simple side salad. Ready in just 20 minutes, it’s a flavorful and sophisticated meal everyone will love.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup vegetable broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tsp lemon zest
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  • Cook the Shrimp: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until they turn pink and are cooked through. Remove the shrimp from the pan and set aside.
  • Make the Sauce: In the same skillet, add garlic and sauté for 1 minute. Then, add vegetable broth, heavy cream, lemon juice, and lemon zest. Stir to combine and bring to a simmer for 2-3 minutes, allowing the sauce to slightly thicken.
  • Combine: Return the shrimp to the skillet and toss to coat in the sauce. Cook for another 2-3 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.
  • Serve: Season with salt and pepper to taste, then garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

  • You can add vegetables such as spinach, asparagus, or zucchini to the sauce for extra flavor and texture.
  • For a spicy twist, add red pepper flakes to the sauce.
  • Substitute shrimp with scallops or chicken for a different protein option.
