Description

Savory Biscuits Filled with Roast Beef, Provolone, and Au Jus are a delicious twist on the classic French dip sandwich. Tender roast beef, melted provolone cheese, and flaky biscuits come together for a hearty, satisfying meal. Perfect for cozy dinners or weekend gatherings, these biscuits are served with a warm au jus dipping sauce that adds a rich, flavorful touch to every bite.

Ingredients

1 can (16.3 oz) refrigerated biscuit dough

8 slices deli roast beef

8 slices provolone cheese

1/4 cup butter, melted

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1/2 teaspoon dried thyme

1/2 teaspoon dried rosemary

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1 cup beef broth

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven: Set your oven to 350°F (175°C).

  • Prepare the biscuits: Separate the biscuit dough into 8 biscuits and flatten each slightly with your hands.

  • Fill the biscuits: Place one slice of roast beef and one slice of provolone cheese on each biscuit.

  • Seal the biscuits: Fold the edges of the biscuit dough over the filling and pinch to seal, forming a ball. Arrange the filled biscuits seam-side down in a greased baking dish.

  • Brush with butter: In a small bowl, mix melted butter, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, rosemary, salt, and pepper. Brush this mixture generously over the tops of the biscuits.

  • Bake: Bake the biscuits in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, until golden brown and cooked through.

  • Prepare the au jus: While the biscuits are baking, heat the beef broth in a small saucepan over medium heat until warm.

  • Serve: Once the biscuits are ready, serve them warm with the beef broth on the side for dipping.

Notes

Different cheeses: Try Swiss, mozzarella, or cheddar for a unique flavor profile.

Add herbs: Fresh parsley or chives can enhance the flavor.

Spicy kick: Add hot sauce or red pepper flakes for some heat.

Vegetarian version: Swap the roast beef for sautéed mushrooms or plant-based proteins.
