Ingredients
1 cup quinoa, rinsed
1 cup water
1 pinch salt (optional)
Instructions
- Rinse the quinoa under cold water using a fine mesh strainer to remove any bitterness.
- Add the rinsed quinoa, water, and salt to the Instant Pot and stir briefly to combine.
- Seal the lid and set the Instant Pot to High Pressure for 1 minute.
- When the cooking cycle finishes, allow a natural pressure release for 10 minutes.
- Carefully quick release any remaining pressure.
- Open the lid and fluff the quinoa with a fork before serving.
Notes
For extra flavor, replace the water with vegetable broth or chicken broth.
For a nuttier taste, toast the rinsed quinoa on the sauté setting for 1–2 minutes before adding water.
Add a bay leaf or minced garlic before pressure cooking for more aroma.
Cooked quinoa can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
Freeze quinoa in portion-sized containers for up to 2 months and thaw overnight in the refrigerator before reheating.
Reheat with a splash of water in the microwave or gently on the stovetop to prevent drying out.
