Description
Potato Crispers are crispy, golden, and packed with flavor, making them the perfect snack or appetizer. With a crunchy exterior and a soft, flavorful interior, they are quick and easy to make, ideal for any occasion.
Ingredients
6 to 7 boiled potatoes
3 to 4 tbsp corn flour (or corn starch)
1/2 tsp black pepper powder
1 tsp red chili flakes
Salt, to taste
Fresh coriander leaves, chopped
Instructions
- Mash the Potatoes: Begin by boiling the potatoes until they are soft. Once boiled, peel and mash them in a bowl until smooth.
- Mix the Ingredients: Add corn flour, black pepper powder, red chili flakes, salt, and chopped fresh coriander leaves to the mashed potatoes. Mix thoroughly to form a dough-like consistency.
- Shape the Crispers: Roll the dough into small balls, then cut them into small pieces. Use chopsticks or a pencil to press the dough pieces down and shape them into the classic crisper form.
- Fry the Crispers: Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Once hot, fry the shaped crispers until golden brown and crispy on all sides.
- Serve and Enjoy: Once fried, remove the crispers from the oil and place them on paper towels to drain any excess oil. Serve hot with your favorite dip, such as ketchup, mayonnaise, or a spicy dip.
Notes
Cheese-filled Crispers: For a cheesy twist, stuff the crispers with small cubes of cheese before frying.
Spicy Version: Increase the amount of red chili flakes or add a pinch of cayenne pepper to make these extra spicy.
Herb Variations: Add other fresh herbs like parsley or thyme to the dough for a different flavor profile.
