Description

Pistachio Salad, also known as Watergate Salad, is a creamy, fluffy, and sweet dessert made with pistachio pudding, whipped topping, marshmallows, and pineapple.


Ingredients

1 (20 ounce) can crushed pineapple, drained

1 (3 ounce) package instant pistachio pudding mix

1 (8 ounce) container frozen whipped topping, thawed

½ (10.5 ounce) package miniature marshmallows


Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix together the drained crushed pineapple and dry pistachio pudding mix until well combined.
  2. Gently fold in the thawed whipped topping and marshmallows until the mixture is smooth and evenly incorporated.
  3. Cover the bowl and refrigerate the salad for at least 30 minutes, or until it’s well chilled.
  4. Once chilled, serve and enjoy!

Notes

Feel free to add fruits like mandarins, maraschino cherries, or strawberries for extra flavor.

For a crunchier texture, add chopped pistachios or other nuts like walnuts or almonds.

If too sweet, balance the flavor by adding cottage cheese.

A tropical twist can be added with shredded coconut.
