Pistachio Salad, also known as Watergate Salad, is a creamy, fluffy, and sweet dessert made with pistachio pudding, whipped topping, marshmallows, and pineapple.
Ingredients
1 (20 ounce) can crushed pineapple, drained
1 (3 ounce) package instant pistachio pudding mix
1 (8 ounce) container frozen whipped topping, thawed
½ (10.5 ounce) package miniature marshmallows
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix together the drained crushed pineapple and dry pistachio pudding mix until well combined.
- Gently fold in the thawed whipped topping and marshmallows until the mixture is smooth and evenly incorporated.
- Cover the bowl and refrigerate the salad for at least 30 minutes, or until it’s well chilled.
- Once chilled, serve and enjoy!
Notes
Feel free to add fruits like mandarins, maraschino cherries, or strawberries for extra flavor.
For a crunchier texture, add chopped pistachios or other nuts like walnuts or almonds.
If too sweet, balance the flavor by adding cottage cheese.
A tropical twist can be added with shredded coconut.
