Description
Pan Fried Sweet Peaches are a quick and indulgent dessert featuring caramelized peaches with cinnamon, ginger, and brown sugar, offering a warm and cozy flavor that’s perfect for any meal.
Ingredients
4 fresh peaches
1 tablespoon unsalted butter
2 tablespoons brown sugar
0.5 teaspoon ground cinnamon
0.25 teaspoon ground ginger
Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Halve the peaches vertically and remove the stones.
- In a non-stick frying pan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in brown sugar, cinnamon, ginger, and a pinch of salt. Mix until the sugar dissolves and the spices are well incorporated.
- Place the peach halves, cut side down, into the pan. Cook for 5-7 minutes, allowing the surface to caramelize. Avoid overcrowding the peaches for optimal caramelization.
- Turn the peaches over and cook the other side for 2-3 minutes, or until tender and nicely caramelized.
- Serve the peaches hot. Pair with ice cream, yogurt, or pancakes for a complete dessert or breakfast.
Notes
For the best flavor, use fresh peaches. If using canned peaches, ensure they are drained well.
If you prefer a different sweetener, you can use maple syrup, honey, or coconut sugar instead of brown sugar.
Feel free to add more spices like nutmeg, cloves, or allspice to elevate the flavor.
This technique also works well with plums, nectarines, or apricots, though cooking times may vary.
For a dairy-free option, substitute the butter with non-dairy butter or coconut oil.
