Description
Hearty and comforting meatball subs made with pre-made meatballs simmered in tomato sauce, loaded into warm rolls, and topped with melted cheese and fresh parsley.
Ingredients
400 g pre-made meatballs
325 g fresh tomato pasta sauce
4 long rolls
1 cup grated cheese (100 g)
Fresh Italian parsley, chopped
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 200°C (fan grill).
- Fry the meatballs in a large frying pan until browned and cooked through.
- Add the pasta sauce and cook for a few minutes until hot and well combined.
- Slice the rolls in half and place them on a baking tray.
- Divide the meatballs and sauce evenly among the rolls.
- Top with grated cheese and grill for about 10 minutes, or until golden and bubbling.
- Sprinkle with chopped fresh parsley before serving.
Notes
Add sliced jalapeños for heat.
Use mozzarella or provolone for a different melt.
Add sautéed onions or bell peppers for extra texture.
Spread mayo or garlic butter on the rolls for extra richness.
