Description

Hearty and comforting meatball subs made with pre-made meatballs simmered in tomato sauce, loaded into warm rolls, and topped with melted cheese and fresh parsley.


Ingredients

400 g pre-made meatballs

325 g fresh tomato pasta sauce

4 long rolls

1 cup grated cheese (100 g)

Fresh Italian parsley, chopped


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (fan grill).
  2. Fry the meatballs in a large frying pan until browned and cooked through.
  3. Add the pasta sauce and cook for a few minutes until hot and well combined.
  4. Slice the rolls in half and place them on a baking tray.
  5. Divide the meatballs and sauce evenly among the rolls.
  6. Top with grated cheese and grill for about 10 minutes, or until golden and bubbling.
  7. Sprinkle with chopped fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

Add sliced jalapeños for heat.

Use mozzarella or provolone for a different melt.

Add sautéed onions or bell peppers for extra texture.

Spread mayo or garlic butter on the rolls for extra richness.
