Description

Louisiana Remoulade Sauce is a zesty, flavorful condiment with creamy mayo, tangy mustard, horseradish, Worcestershire sauce, and spices. It’s the perfect addition to seafood, fried foods, or as a dip for appetizers.

Ingredients

1 cup mayonnaise

2 tablespoons Dijon mustard

1 tablespoon ketchup

1 tablespoon horseradish (prepared)

1 tablespoon lemon juice (freshly squeezed)

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1 teaspoon paprika

1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon onion powder

Salt and pepper, to taste

2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Combine the Base: In a mixing bowl, add the mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, ketchup, and horseradish. Stir until well blended.
  2. Add Flavor: Mix in the lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, paprika, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Combine thoroughly until smooth.
  3. Season: Taste the sauce and adjust with salt and pepper as needed to enhance the flavors.
  4. Chill: Cover the bowl with cling film and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes. This resting time allows the spices to meld beautifully.
  5. Garnish: If desired, sprinkle fresh parsley on top before serving for an added burst of color and freshness.

Notes

For extra heat, increase the cayenne pepper or add a dash of hot sauce.

Add herbs like tarragon, thyme, or chives for a more complex flavor.

For a vegan version, use vegan mayo and adjust the other ingredients accordingly.

This sauce can be made ahead of time, and the flavors will intensify as it sits in the fridge.

Remoulade is great on seafood, fried foods, sandwiches, burgers, and even as a salad dressing.
