Description

Lemon Pepper Cod is a quick and easy dish that pairs the mild, flaky texture of cod with the zesty brightness of lemon and the subtle heat of black pepper. Ideal for busy weeknights or a light weekend meal, this recipe delivers a burst of flavor with minimal effort.

Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • pounds cod fillets
  • 1 lemon, juiced
  • Ground black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat the Oil: In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until hot.
  2. Season the Cod: Add the cod fillets to the skillet. Squeeze half of the lemon juice over the fillets and sprinkle with ground black pepper to taste.
  3. Cook the Cod: Cook the fillets for about 4 minutes. Flip them over, squeeze the remaining lemon juice on top, and season with more black pepper if desired. Continue cooking for another 3-4 minutes, until the fish flakes easily with a fork.

Notes

  • You can add fresh herbs like parsley or dill for extra flavor.
  • For a spicier dish, try incorporating red pepper flakes or cayenne pepper.
  • If you want a citrus blend, try adding orange or lime juice along with the lemon.
