Description

A cozy, cheesy lazy lasagna that delivers all the comforting flavors of classic lasagna with minimal effort. This easy baked dish is hearty, satisfying, and perfect for busy nights when you still want a homemade meal.

Ingredients

912 lasagna noodles (no-boil or regular)

1 lb ground beef or Italian sausage

2 cups marinara sauce

15 oz ricotta cheese

2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 large egg

2 tsp Italian seasoning

Salt, to taste

Black pepper, to taste

Fresh basil or parsley, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef, breaking it up as it cooks. Drain excess fat.
  3. Season the meat with Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  4. In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese, egg, Parmesan cheese, and a pinch of salt until smooth.
  5. Spread a thin layer of marinara sauce on the bottom of a baking dish.
  6. Add a layer of lasagna noodles over the sauce.
  7. Spread half of the ricotta mixture over the noodles and sprinkle with mozzarella.
  8. Repeat with another layer of sauce, noodles, remaining ricotta mixture, and more mozzarella.
  9. Top with a final layer of noodles, remaining marinara sauce, and the rest of the mozzarella and Parmesan.
  10. Cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes.
  11. Remove foil and bake for another 10 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden.
  12. Let rest for 5–10 minutes, garnish if desired, and serve.

Notes

No-boil noodles work best when fully covered with sauce.

Add sautéed vegetables like mushrooms or spinach for variety.

Letting the lasagna rest helps it slice cleanly.

Extra sauce prevents the dish from drying out.
