Description

This Italian Chicken Marinade combines olive oil, vinegar, lemon juice, Dijon mustard, and Italian seasoning to create a tangy and flavorful marinade that works perfectly for chicken, fish, or vegetables. It’s easy to make and adds delicious depth to your meals.


Ingredients

⅓ cup olive oil

3 tablespoons vinegar

1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

2 teaspoons Dijon mustard

2 teaspoons honey

2 teaspoons Italian seasoning

1 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon black pepper

1 clove garlic (minced) or ½ teaspoon garlic powder


Instructions

  1. In a medium glass bowl or freezer bag, combine the olive oil, vinegar, lemon juice, Dijon mustard, honey, Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, and garlic. Mix well until all ingredients are fully incorporated.
  2. Add up to 2 lbs of chicken (or fish or veggies) to the marinade and toss to coat. Seal the bag or cover the bowl, ensuring the marinade coats everything evenly.
  3. Let the chicken marinate for at least 1 hour, or up to 6 hours for a more intense flavor.
  4. Once marinated, remove the chicken from the marinade and discard the marinade. Grill, bake, or broil the chicken as desired.

Notes

For a spicy kick, add red pepper flakes or hot sauce to the marinade.

Substitute honey with maple syrup or a sugar substitute for a lower-calorie version.

If you don’t have Italian seasoning, you can use a mix of dried oregano, basil, thyme, and rosemary.
