A flavorful and easy one-pan meal featuring succulent shrimp, smoky sausage, and crisp broccoli in a sweet and savory honey garlic sauce. Perfect for busy weeknights!
Ingredients
- 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 8 oz smoked sausage, sliced into 1/2-inch pieces
- 2 cups broccoli florets
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/4 cup soy sauce (low sodium preferred)
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Cooked rice or quinoa, for serving
- Fresh parsley or cilantro, chopped (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the Sauce: Whisk together honey, soy sauce, garlic, lemon juice, and red pepper flakes in a small bowl. Set aside.
- Cook the Sausage: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook sausage slices for 4-5 minutes until browned. Remove and set aside.
- Cook the Shrimp: In the same skillet, cook shrimp with salt and pepper for 2-3 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove and set aside.
- Sauté the Broccoli: Add broccoli to the skillet and cook for 4-5 minutes until tender-crisp. Add a splash of water if needed.
- Combine Everything: Return shrimp and sausage to the skillet. Pour the honey garlic sauce over, stirring to coat. Cook for 2-3 minutes until sauce thickens.
- Serve: Enjoy over rice or quinoa, garnished with parsley or cilantro.
Notes
- Swap broccoli with bell peppers, asparagus, or green beans.
- Use chicken sausage or cubed chicken instead of smoked sausage.
- For a low-carb version, serve with cauliflower rice or zucchini noodles.
- Store leftovers in the fridge for 3-4 days and reheat on the stovetop.
