Description

Homemade Fudgesicles are a creamy, rich frozen treat made with simple ingredients like cocoa powder, heavy cream, and dark chocolate. This easy recipe recreates the classic chocolate fudgesicle with a smooth, melt-in-your-mouth texture. Perfect for a cool, chocolatey indulgence on warm days.

Ingredients

1 cup heavy cream

1 cup whole milk

2 tbsp cornstarch

½ cup brown sugar

¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder

2 oz dark chocolate, chopped

1 tsp vanilla extract

¼ tsp salt

Instructions

  • Heat the Milk and Cream:
In a saucepan, heat the milk and cream over medium-low heat until warm, but not boiling.

  • Make the Slurry:
Combine cornstarch with a few tablespoons of the warm milk mixture. Stir until smooth, then add it back to the saucepan.

  • Add Chocolate and Flavorings:
Stir in cocoa powder, brown sugar, dark chocolate, vanilla, and salt. Whisk until the chocolate melts and the mixture is smooth.

  • Pour and Freeze:
Pour the mixture into popsicle molds and freeze for at least 4 hours, or overnight.

  • Serve:
Once frozen, remove the fudgesicles from the molds and enjoy immediately!

Notes

Variations:

Nutty Fudgesicles: Add chopped nuts like almonds, walnuts, or peanuts for a crunchy texture.

Chocolate Chips: Fold in chocolate chips for extra chocolatey bits.

Dairy-Free: Swap milk and cream for coconut milk for a dairy-free version.

Storage/Reheating:

Storage: Keep in the freezer for up to a month. Store in an airtight container to prevent freezer burn.

Reheating: These popsicles are meant to be enjoyed frozen; there is no need to reheat.
