Ingredients

  • 500 grams thinly sliced beef (sirloin, flank, or ribeye)
  • 400 grams rice noodles or egg noodles
  • 4 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp grated ginger
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 4 green onions, chopped
  • 1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 large carrot, julienned
  • 1 tbsp toasted sesame seeds (optional)
  • Fresh cilantro, chopped (optional)
  • Chili flakes (optional)

Instructions

  • Prepare the Ingredients: Slice beef, mince garlic, grate ginger, and chop vegetables. Set aside.
  • Cook the Noodles: Boil water, cook noodles according to package instructions, drain, and rinse with cold water.
  • Marinate the Beef: In a small bowl, mix hoisin sauce, soy sauce, garlic, and ginger. Add beef and marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  • Stir-Fry the Vegetables: Heat 1 tablespoon vegetable oil in a large skillet. Add bell pepper and carrot, stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until tender but still crisp.
  • Cook the Beef: Push vegetables to one side of the skillet, add marinated beef, and stir-fry for 5-7 minutes until browned.
  • Combine Everything: Add noodles to the skillet, toss with any remaining marinade, and stir in green onions. Cook for 2 more minutes.
  • Finish: Drizzle with sesame oil, garnish with sesame seeds, cilantro, and chili flakes if desired.

Notes

  • Protein Options: Replace beef with chicken, tofu, or tempeh for a different variation.
  • Noodle Variations: Use soba noodles or zucchini noodles for a gluten-free or low-carb option.
  • Veggies: Add mushrooms, snow peas, or bok choy for extra flavor and nutrition.
  • Spicy Kick: Add more chili flakes or drizzle sriracha for extra heat.
