Description

Heaven on Earth Cake is a decadent dessert featuring fluffy cake layers, a rich cream cheese filling, and a crunchy topping. This easy-to-make treat combines soft, creamy, and crunchy textures for an indulgent dessert that’s perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

For the Cake Base:

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 ½ cups granulated sugar

4 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 teaspoon baking powder

½ teaspoon salt

½ cup unsalted butter, softened

1 cup milk

For the Cream Cheese Filling:

8 oz cream cheese, softened

1 cup whipped cream or topping of your choice

¼ cup powdered sugar

Optional Toppings:

Chopped nuts (e.g., pecans, walnuts)

Caramel drizzle

Fresh fruit (e.g., berries, citrus zest)

Instructions

  • Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13-inch baking pan.

  • Prepare the Cake Base:
In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter and sugar together until fluffy. Add the eggs, one at a time, and mix until smooth. Stir in the vanilla extract.

  • Mix the Dry Ingredients:
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with the milk, until just combined.

  • Bake the Cake:
Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and smooth the top. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.

  • Prepare the Cream Cheese Filling:
In a bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese, whipped cream, and powdered sugar until smooth and fluffy.

  • Assemble the Cake:
Once the cake has cooled, spread the cream cheese filling over the top evenly.

  • Add Toppings:
Sprinkle with chopped nuts, drizzle with caramel, or top with fresh fruit as desired.

  • Chill:
Refrigerate the cake for at least 2 hours to allow the layers to set before serving.

Notes

Variations:

Add fruit like berries or citrus zest to the filling for added flavor.

For a gluten-free version, substitute the flour with a gluten-free blend.

Try a dairy-free version using plant-based cream cheese.

Storage/Reheating:

Storage: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.

Freezing: Freeze the cake layers separately, then assemble when ready to serve.

Reheating: Reheat individual slices in the microwave for a warm treat.
