Description
Garlic Parmesan Monkey Bread is a cheesy, pull-apart appetizer made with biscuit dough, garlic butter, and Parmesan cheese. It’s an irresistible, easy-to-make dish that’s perfect for parties, gatherings, or a fun snack.
Ingredients
3 cans of refrigerated biscuit dough (like buttermilk or flaky)
½ cup unsalted butter, melted
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for a bit of heat)
1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (plus extra for garnish)
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a bundt pan with non-stick spray or butter.
- Prep the biscuits: Open the cans of biscuit dough and separate all the biscuits. Cut each biscuit into quarters.
- Make the garlic butter mixture: In a medium-sized bowl, combine the melted butter, minced garlic, Italian seasoning, red pepper flakes (if using), salt, and black pepper. Stir until well mixed.
- Coat the biscuit pieces: In a large mixing bowl, add the biscuit pieces. Pour the garlic butter mixture over the biscuit pieces and toss to coat evenly.
- Layer with cheese: Sprinkle half of the Parmesan cheese over the coated biscuit pieces. Toss again lightly to distribute the cheese throughout.
- Fill the bundt pan: Transfer half of the biscuit mixture into the prepared bundt pan. Sprinkle half of the remaining Parmesan on top. Add the rest of the biscuit mixture and top with the remaining Parmesan.
- Bake: Place the bundt pan in the preheated oven and bake for 30–35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the biscuits are cooked through.
- Cool & serve: Once baked, remove the bundt pan from the oven and let it cool for about 5 minutes. Invert onto a serving plate and sprinkle with fresh parsley before serving.
- Enjoy: Pull apart the fluffy, cheesy, garlic-rich pieces and enjoy your delicious Garlic Parmesan Monkey Bread warm!
Notes
Cheddar, mozzarella, or provolone can be used for a different flavor profile, but Parmesan provides the best sharp, salty flavor.
For extra heat, add red pepper flakes or diced jalapeños. Adjust to taste.
Prepare ahead by making the garlic butter and cutting the biscuits. Refrigerate until ready to bake.
Use gluten-free biscuit dough for a gluten-free version, ensuring all other ingredients are also gluten-free.
To make individual portions, use a muffin tin and bake for 15–20 minutes until golden brown.
Store leftovers in an airtight container for 2-3 days and reheat in the oven to retain crispiness.
Freeze assembled bread (before baking) for up to 2-3 months. Thaw in the fridge overnight and bake as usual.
Store-bought garlic butter can replace the homemade mixture, adjusting to taste.
Serve with marinara, ranch, or creamy garlic sauce for dipping.
Pizza dough or homemade biscuit dough can also work well for this recipe.
