Description

Garlic Parmesan Chicken is a rich, creamy dish with tender chicken breasts cooked in a flavorful garlic-Parmesan sauce. Made with chicken broth, fresh herbs, and a touch of lemon, this restaurant-quality meal is easy to make at home. Perfect for weeknight dinners or special occasions, serve it with pasta, mashed potatoes, or roasted vegetables for a comforting and satisfying dish.

Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour (or gluten-free alternative)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream (or half-and-half for a lighter version)
  • 3/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Instructions

  • Prepare the Chicken: Season chicken breasts with salt and pepper, then lightly dredge them in flour, shaking off the excess.
  • Sear the Chicken: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Sear the chicken for 4-5 minutes per side until golden brown. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  • Make the Sauce: In the same skillet, melt the butter, then sauté the minced garlic until fragrant. Deglaze with chicken broth, scraping up any browned bits from the pan.
  • Add the Cream & Cheese: Stir in the heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, basil, and oregano. Let the sauce simmer for 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened.
  • Simmer the Chicken: Return the chicken to the skillet, coating it in the sauce. Let it simmer for 5-7 minutes, or until the chicken is fully cooked.
  • Finish & Serve: Stir in lemon juice for brightness, then serve hot with your favorite sides.

Notes

  • Vegetable Add-Ins: Try adding spinach, mushrooms, or sun-dried tomatoes for extra depth.
  • Spicy Twist: Add red pepper flakes or a dash of hot sauce.
  • Lighter Version: Use half-and-half instead of heavy cream.
  • Gluten-Free Option: Use cornstarch instead of flour for dredging.
