Description

These Garlic Butter Dinner Rolls are soft, fluffy, and brushed with rich, garlicky butter that melts into every golden layer. Easy to make and packed with flavor, they’re the perfect side for any meal—from cozy dinners to holiday feasts. Customize with cheese or herbs for your own savory twist!

Ingredients

For the Dough:

All-purpose flour

Active dry yeast

Granulated sugar

Salt

Warm milk

Butter (softened)

Egg

For the Garlic Butter Topping:

Butter (melted)

Fresh garlic (minced)

Fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  • Activate the Yeast:
In a small bowl, mix yeast, sugar, and warm milk. Let sit for 5 minutes until bubbly.

  • Make the Dough:
In a large bowl, combine flour and salt. Add yeast mixture, egg, and softened butter. Mix until a dough forms. Knead on a floured surface for 5–7 minutes until smooth.

  • Let It Rise:
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp towel, and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.

  • Shape the Rolls:
Punch down the dough, divide into 12 equal balls, and place in a greased baking dish. Let rise again for 30 minutes.

  • Bake:
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake for 20–25 minutes until golden brown.

  • Garlic Butter:
While the rolls bake, melt butter and sauté garlic for 1–2 minutes. Brush over hot rolls and garnish with parsley if desired.

Notes

Extra Garlicky: Add garlic to the dough for a stronger flavor.

Cheesy Option: Mix shredded cheese into the dough or sprinkle on top before baking.

Make Ahead: Refrigerate dough after the first rise and bring to room temp before shaping.
