Description
Garlic Bread is a delicious and easy-to-make side dish featuring a crispy, buttery exterior and soft, flavorful interior. With fresh garlic, parsley, and optional Parmesan, it pairs perfectly with pasta, soups, and more.
Ingredients
1 loaf of French bread or Italian bread
½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
4–6 garlic cloves, minced (more if you love garlic!)
¼ cup fresh parsley, finely chopped
½ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon pepper
Optional: Grated Parmesan cheese for topping
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a medium bowl, mix softened butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, and pepper until fully combined.
- Slice the loaf of bread in half lengthwise (or into individual pieces if using a baguette).
- Generously spread the garlic butter mixture on the cut sides of the bread.
- If desired, sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese on top for extra flavor.
- Wrap the bread in aluminum foil and bake for 15-20 minutes until heated through and butter has melted.
- Unwrap the foil and broil the bread for 2-3 minutes until the edges are golden brown and crispy.
- Allow the bread to cool slightly, then slice and serve warm.
Notes
For extra flavor, add herbs like thyme, rosemary, or oregano to the garlic butter mixture.
Add mozzarella and Parmesan for a cheesy version before broiling.
For a spicy kick, add red pepper flakes to the garlic butter.
Garlic powder can substitute minced garlic if fresh garlic isn’t available.
