Description

This Easy Cinnamon Bread recipe makes a soft, fluffy loaf swirled with sweet cinnamon sugar. Perfect for toast, French toast, or enjoying warm from the oven, it’s simple enough for beginners but delicious enough to feel like a bakery treat.


Ingredients

2 cups warm water

1 tablespoon yeast

1/4 cup sugar

5 cups bread flour (plus more if needed)

2 teaspoons salt

1/4 cup vegetable oil

1/2 cup powdered sugar

1 tablespoon cinnamon


Instructions

  1. Place warm water in a mixing bowl.
  2. Sprinkle sugar and yeast over the water and let stand for 5 minutes.
  3. Add flour, oil, and salt. Mix well. If too sticky, add flour 1/2 cup at a time until smooth and workable.
  4. Knead for 2 minutes with a mixer or 5 minutes by hand.
  5. Let rise until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
  6. Divide dough in half and roll each into a 9×15-inch rectangle (or as wide as your bread pan).
  7. Sprinkle each with powdered sugar and cinnamon.
  8. Roll tightly, place in greased bread pans seam side down.
  9. Let rise until nearly doubled, about 30–40 minutes.
  10. Bake at 350°F for 30 minutes, or until golden brown.
  11. Turn onto a rack to cool. Store in bags once cooled.

Notes

Add raisins, dried cranberries, or chopped nuts to the filling for variety.

Swap powdered sugar for brown sugar for deeper flavor.

Drizzle with a powdered sugar glaze for extra indulgence.

Store at room temperature for up to 3 days or freeze for 2 months.

Reheat slices in the toaster or oven for best flavor.
