16 ounces sharp cheddar cheese, grated (at room temperature)
2 cups Bisquick baking mix
Up to 1/4 cup milk, as needed
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, combine ground meat, grated cheddar cheese, and Bisquick. Mix well using your hands or a spatula.
- Gradually add milk, 1–2 tablespoons at a time, until the mixture holds together.
- Roll the mixture into golf ball-sized portions (about 1 1/2 inches in diameter).
- Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet, leaving space between each ball.
- Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.
- Serve warm or at room temperature.
Notes
Add garlic powder or onion powder for extra flavor.
Use cayenne or red pepper flakes for spice.
Swap sharp cheddar with Monterey Jack, pepper jack, or Colby cheese.
Use poultry instead of red meat for a lighter option.
Add chopped herbs like parsley or chives for freshness.
Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 4 days or freeze up to 2 months.
Reheat at 325°F (160°C) for 8–10 minutes or from frozen at 350°F (175°C) for 15–20 minutes.
