Description

These Donut Apples with Peanut Butter are a fun and creative twist on a classic apple snack. The combination of crisp apple slices, creamy peanut butter, and a variety of delightful toppings creates a treat that’s both indulgent and satisfying. Perfect for a snack or dessert, this easy-to-make recipe is a healthier, guilt-free alternative to traditional donuts and will be a hit at your next celebration or gathering.

Ingredients

  • 4 apples
  • 1 ⅓ cups peanut butter
  • Suggested toppings: roasted coconut, blueberries, strawberries, sprinkles, white chocolate, dark chocolate

Instructions

  • Wash the apples thoroughly.
  • Slice the apples into ½ inch slices, discarding the top and bottom slice.
  • Use a small biscuit or cookie cutter, or a melon baller, to remove the core from each apple slice.
  • Spread a generous amount of peanut butter on each apple slice.
  • Sprinkle your favorite toppings over the peanut butter-coated apple slices.
  • Drizzle with white or dark chocolate for an extra touch of sweetness.

Notes

  • Feel free to swap out peanut butter with almond butter, cashew butter, or sunflower seed butter if you have allergies or a preference for another nut butter.
  • Get creative with your toppings! Mini chocolate chips, granola, and crushed nuts are great options.
  • To keep apples from browning, dip them in a mixture of water and lemon juice before assembling.
