Description

These Deviled Egg Chicks are the perfect fun and festive treat for Easter or any spring gathering. With simple ingredients and an easy assembly process, these adorable chick-shaped deviled eggs are sure to delight both kids and adults. Cute, tasty, and customizable, they’re the ideal appetizer for your next holiday celebration!

Ingredients

  • Hard-boiled eggs (amount depending on servings)
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 3 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt, to taste
  • Raisins (for eyes)
  • Baby carrots (for beaks and feet)

Instructions

1. Prepare the Eggs

  1. Peel the hard-boiled eggs. Slice a small bit off the bottom of each egg to allow them to stand up securely.
  2. Cut off the top of each egg and carefully remove the yolks, ensuring the egg whites stay intact.

2. Make the Filling

  1. Mash the egg yolks in a bowl and mix with mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, and salt until smooth.
  2. Transfer the yolk mixture into a plastic bag and snip off a small corner to create a piping bag for easy filling.

3. Assemble the Chicks

  1. Pipe the yolk mixture into the base of each egg white.
  2. Place the top of the egg back on to form the chick’s “head.”

4. Add the Details

  1. For eyes, place a raisin on each chick’s face.
  2. Cut small pieces of baby carrots for the beaks and, if desired, small pieces for the feet. Attach them to the egg with a little more yolk mixture if needed.

5. Serve

  1. Arrange the deviled egg chicks on a platter and serve immediately, or refrigerate until ready to serve.

Notes

  • Vegetarian Twist: Swap raisins for olives for a different look for the eyes.
  • Spicy Kick: Add a little sriracha or hot sauce to the yolk mixture for a spicier version.
  • Cheese Lovers: Top the yolk mixture with grated cheese for extra flavor.
