Description

Cucumber juice is a hydrating, refreshing, and nutritious drink that is perfect for any time of the day. With its vibrant flavors and health benefits, this juice is not only great for hydration but also supports digestion and skin health. Customize it with lemon, ginger, and mint for added flavor and benefits.

Ingredients

4 large cucumbers, preferably organic (about 2 pounds total)

1/2 lemon or lime, juiced (optional, for flavor and preservation)

1/2 inch ginger root, peeled (optional, for added flavor and health benefits)

Pinch of sea salt (optional, to enhance flavor)

Fresh mint leaves (optional, for garnish and flavor)

Water (optional, for diluting if the juice is too strong)

Instructions

  1. Wash the Cucumbers: Thoroughly wash the cucumbers under running water using a vegetable brush to remove any dirt or residue.
  2. Trim the Ends: Cut off both ends of each cucumber.
  3. Peel the Cucumbers (Optional): Peel the cucumbers if desired, especially if they are not organic. Organic cucumbers can be left unpeeled for extra nutrients.
  4. Chop the Cucumbers: Cut the cucumbers into 1-2 inch pieces, making it easier to juice.
  5. Prepare the Ginger (If Using): Peel and chop the ginger root into small pieces to add to the juice for extra flavor and health benefits.
  6. Set Up Your Juicer: Ensure your juicer is clean and properly assembled.
  7. Start Juicing: Feed the cucumber pieces into the juicer, one at a time. Add the chopped ginger along with the cucumbers, if using.
  8. Collect the Juice: As the juice is extracted, collect it in a clean container.
  9. Juice the Remaining Cucumbers: Continue juicing until all of the cucumbers and ginger (if using) are processed.
  10. Add Lemon or Lime Juice (Optional): Squeeze the juice of half a lemon or lime into the cucumber juice for added freshness and flavor.
  11. Add Sea Salt (Optional): Add a pinch of sea salt to enhance the flavor of the juice.
  12. Stir Well: Mix all the ingredients together to combine the flavors.
  13. Strain the Juice (Optional): If you prefer a smoother texture, strain the juice through a fine-mesh sieve or cheesecloth to remove any pulp.
  14. Serve Immediately: Pour the juice into a glass and enjoy! For extra freshness, garnish with fresh mint leaves or a slice of cucumber or lemon.
  15. Dilute with Water (Optional): If the juice is too strong for your taste, dilute it with water to achieve the desired consistency.
  16. Store Properly: If you have leftovers, store the juice in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours. Be sure to shake well before drinking.

Notes

Sweeten It: Add honey, maple syrup, or stevia for a hint of sweetness.

Spicy Kick: For a bit of heat, add a small piece of jalapeño to the juicer.

Make It a Smoothie: Blend the cucumber juice with yogurt, avocado, or protein powder to make it a thicker smoothie.

Fruit Infusions: Mix in other fruits like watermelon, apple, or mint for a unique twist.

Frozen Option: Freeze the juice in ice cube trays for later use in smoothies or as ice cubes for other drinks.
