Description

Ingredients

500g fresh Paris mushrooms (or button mushrooms)

2 eggs, beaten

60g all-purpose flour

100g breadcrumbs (panko or classic)

50g grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp sweet paprika

Salt and pepper to taste

Oil for frying or oil spray for baking


Instructions

  • Prepare the Coating Station:

    • Set up three bowls: flour in the first, beaten eggs in the second, and breadcrumbs with Parmesan, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper in the third.

  • Coat the Mushrooms:

    • Dry mushrooms with a paper towel. Coat each mushroom in flour, dip in eggs, and press into the breadcrumb mixture, ensuring an even coating.

  • Fry or Bake:

    • Fry: Heat 1–2 inches of oil to 350°F (175°C). Fry mushrooms in batches for 2–3 minutes until golden and crispy.

    • Bake: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Place mushrooms on a lined baking sheet, spray with oil, and bake for 15–20 minutes, flipping halfway through.

  • Serve:

    • Serve hot with dipping sauces like ranch, marinara, or spicy mayo.


Notes

Double coat for an extra crunchy exterior.
