Description

This Creamed Cabbage Ground Beef Casserole is a rich and comforting dish that combines savory ground beef, tender cabbage, and a creamy sauce topped with melted cheddar and Parmesan cheese. Perfect for a family dinner, this low-carb and gluten-free casserole is easy to make and ideal for meal prep. A hearty, one-dish meal everyone will love!

Ingredients

1 pound ground beef

1 small head of green cabbage, chopped

1 medium onion, diced

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup heavy cream

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 teaspoon paprika

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and minced garlic, sautéing until the onion is translucent.

  3. Add the ground beef, cooking until browned. Drain excess fat if necessary.

  4. Stir in the chopped cabbage, cooking until it begins to soften, about 5-7 minutes.

  5. Pour in the heavy cream, adding paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix well and let simmer for another 5 minutes.

  6. Transfer the mixture to a greased 9×13 inch baking dish. Top with shredded cheddar cheese and sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese.

  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.

  8. Let the casserole cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

You can customize this dish by adding other vegetables like bell peppers or zucchini.

Swap cheddar for mozzarella or your preferred cheese.

For a spicy version, add red pepper flakes.

Replace ground beef with lentils or tofu for a vegetarian option.

This dish stores well and makes great leftovers!
