Description

These Copycat Pizza Hut Breadsticks are soft, buttery, and topped with an irresistible herb and Parmesan blend. Perfectly chewy and golden, they’re the ultimate homemade snack or side dish—just like the ones you crave from the restaurant, only better!

Ingredients

For the Dough:

Bread flour

2¼ tsp active dry yeast (1 packet)

1½ tsp salt

2 tbsp granulated sugar

2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted

¾ cup warm water (about 110°F)

¼ cup warm milk

For the Herbed Butter Topping:

3 tbsp unsalted butter, melted

½ tsp dried onion flakes

½ tsp dried oregano

½ tsp garlic powder

½ tsp dried basil

½ tsp salt

2 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Make the Dough:
In a stand mixer, combine bread flour, yeast, salt, sugar, melted butter, warm water, and milk. Mix with dough hook on low for 1-2 minutes, then increase to medium until dough becomes smooth and elastic (about 5–7 minutes).

  2. First Rise:
Transfer dough to a greased bowl. Cover with plastic wrap and let rise in a warm spot until doubled in size (about 1 hour).

  3. Shape the Breadsticks:
Roll dough into an 18×13-inch rectangle and place on a greased or parchment-lined baking sheet. Use a pizza cutter to slice into 20 strips (don’t separate them yet).

  4. Second Rise:
Cover again and let rise for 30–60 minutes until puffy.

  5. Prepare the Topping:
Mix melted butter with onion flakes, oregano, garlic powder, basil, and salt in a small bowl.

  6. Bake:
Preheat oven to 470°F (240°C). Brush dough with plain melted butter. Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until golden brown.

  7. Finish:
Brush hot breadsticks with the herbed butter and sprinkle with grated Parmesan. Slice fully and serve warm with marinara sauce or garlic butter.

Notes

Use a pizza stone for an extra crisp base.

Double the herbed butter if you like them extra buttery.

Great served with warm marinara or ranch dip.
