Description

These Chocolate Covered Mint Patties feature a creamy, minty center wrapped in a smooth chocolate coating, offering the perfect balance of refreshing flavor and rich indulgence. This easy no-bake recipe is ideal for holiday gifts, special occasions, or simply satisfying your sweet tooth.

Ingredients

  • ¼ cup light corn syrup
  • ¼ cup softened butter
  • 1 teaspoon mint extract
  • ⅛ teaspoon salt
  • A few drops of green food coloring (optional)
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 12 ounces chocolate candy coating

Instructions

  1. Make the Mint Filling: In a medium bowl, mix corn syrup, softened butter, mint extract, salt, and green food coloring until smooth.
  2. Add Powdered Sugar: Gradually mix in powdered sugar until a stiff dough forms. Knead the mixture until it’s smooth and no longer sticky.
  3. Shape the Patties: Roll the dough into 1-inch balls, place them on a wax paper-lined baking sheet, and flatten them into discs.
  4. Chill: Cover with wax paper and refrigerate for 60–90 minutes until firm.
  5. Coat with Chocolate: Melt the chocolate candy coating according to package instructions. Using a fork, dip each chilled patty in the melted chocolate, letting excess drip off.
  6. Set the Chocolate: Place the coated patties back on the wax paper and let them set at room temperature or in the refrigerator until the chocolate hardens.

Notes

  • Alternative sweeteners: Substitute corn syrup with honey or agave, but expect slight texture changes.
  • Dipping tip: Use a fork or dipping tool for an even chocolate coating.
  • Storage tip: Store in an airtight container with wax paper layers to prevent sticking.
