Description

Chicken and Stuffing Casserole is the ultimate comfort food. Creamy, cheesy, and packed with flavor, this easy-to-make casserole features tender chicken, a creamy soup base, and a golden, crispy stuffing topping. Perfect for busy days, this one-pan dish is customizable with veggies, spices, or extra cheese, making it a family-friendly favorite that will impress everyone.

Ingredients

For the Casserole:

4 cups cooked chicken (shredded or diced, rotisserie chicken works great)

2 cans (10.5 oz each) condensed cream of chicken soup

1 cup sour cream

1 cup chicken broth

1/2 cup milk

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp onion powder

1/2 tsp black pepper

2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (divided)

1 box (6 oz) Stove-Top stuffing mix (or homemade stuffing mix)

1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted)

Instructions

  • Preheat & Prep: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.

  • Make the Chicken Mixture: In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked chicken, cream of chicken soup, sour cream, chicken broth, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and 1 1/2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese. Stir until well combined.

  • Assemble the Casserole: Spread the chicken mixture evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle the dry stuffing mix evenly over the top of the chicken layer. Drizzle the melted butter over the stuffing mix.

  • Bake: Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until the casserole is bubbly and the stuffing is golden brown. Remove from the oven and sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup of cheddar cheese over the top. Return to the oven for 5 more minutes until the cheese is melted.

  • Serve: Let the casserole cool for 5–10 minutes before serving. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired. Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

Use Rotisserie Chicken: Save time by using pre-cooked rotisserie chicken.

Don’t Skip the Butter: Ensure the stuffing gets crispy and golden by drizzling melted butter on top.

Make Ahead: You can assemble the casserole ahead of time and refrigerate it until you’re ready to bake.

Storage: Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
