Description

Cheesy Potato Gratin is the ultimate comfort food, featuring tender layers of potatoes smothered in a rich, creamy sauce and topped with melted cheese. Ingredients

6 large Russet or Golden Potatoes, peeled and sliced

1 1/2 cups heavy cream

Salt, to taste

Pepper, to taste

1 tsp garlic powder (or 1 clove fresh garlic, pressed)

1/2 cup Parmesan, Gruyere, or Mozzarella cheese (grated)

3 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped


Instructions

  • Preheat Oven: Set your oven to 475°F (245°C).

  • Prepare Potatoes: Sprinkle peeled and sliced potatoes with salt and toss to coat.

  • Arrange Potatoes: Arrange the potatoes in an ovenproof baking dish.

  • Season: Sprinkle garlic powder and freshly ground black pepper over the potatoes.

  • Add Cream: Pour 1 cup of heavy cream over the potatoes.

  • Cover & Bake: Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 10 minutes.

  • Reduce Heat: Lower the temperature to 400°F (200°C) and bake for an additional 35-40 minutes until the potatoes are soft (check with a fork).

  • Add Remaining Cream: Remove the foil, pour the remaining 1/2 cup of cream over the potatoes, and sprinkle with cheese.

  • Broil: Set the oven to broil and cook for 4-5 minutes until the top is golden brown.

  • Serve: Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
