Description
Cheesy Ground Beef Stuffed Bread Rolls are filled with savory, seasoned beef and melted cheese, all wrapped in soft, fluffy dough. Perfect for a quick meal, snack, or party appetizer.
Ingredients
1 pound ground beef
1 small onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon olive oil
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
1/2 teaspoon chili powder (optional)
1/2 cup tomato sauce
1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 package refrigerated pizza dough (or homemade dough)
1 tablespoon melted butter (optional, for brushing)
1 teaspoon sesame seeds (optional)
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add chopped onion and garlic, and sauté for 2-3 minutes until softened.
- Add ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart as it cooks. Cook for 5-7 minutes until browned and fully cooked.
- Stir in salt, pepper, paprika, cumin, and chili powder (optional). Mix well.
- Pour in tomato sauce and simmer for 3-4 minutes, allowing the flavors to blend. Remove from heat and let cool slightly. Stir in shredded mozzarella and cheddar cheese until melted and combined.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Roll out the pizza dough into a rectangle about ¼ inch thick on a floured surface.
- Cut dough into 6-8 equal-sized squares. Spoon a generous amount of the beef and cheese mixture into the center of each dough square.
- Fold the edges over the filling, pinching them together to seal the roll. Place rolls seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
- Brush the tops with melted butter (optional) and sprinkle with sesame seeds for extra flavor and crunch.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown and puffed up. Allow rolls to cool slightly before serving.
Notes
Swap the mozzarella and cheddar for other cheeses like provolone, gouda, or parmesan for a different flavor.
Add jalapeños, red pepper flakes, or hot sauce to the filling for a spicy kick.
Use crescent roll dough or biscuit dough for a different texture.
For a vegetarian version, replace the ground beef with mushrooms, tempeh, or lentils.
