Description

Cheesy Ground Beef Stuffed Bread Rolls are filled with savory, seasoned beef and melted cheese, all wrapped in soft, fluffy dough. Perfect for a quick meal, snack, or party appetizer.

Ingredients

1 pound ground beef

1 small onion, finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon olive oil

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1 teaspoon paprika

1/2 teaspoon ground cumin

1/2 teaspoon chili powder (optional)

1/2 cup tomato sauce

1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1 package refrigerated pizza dough (or homemade dough)

1 tablespoon melted butter (optional, for brushing)

1 teaspoon sesame seeds (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add chopped onion and garlic, and sauté for 2-3 minutes until softened.
  2. Add ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart as it cooks. Cook for 5-7 minutes until browned and fully cooked.
  3. Stir in salt, pepper, paprika, cumin, and chili powder (optional). Mix well.
  4. Pour in tomato sauce and simmer for 3-4 minutes, allowing the flavors to blend. Remove from heat and let cool slightly. Stir in shredded mozzarella and cheddar cheese until melted and combined.
  5. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Roll out the pizza dough into a rectangle about ¼ inch thick on a floured surface.
  6. Cut dough into 6-8 equal-sized squares. Spoon a generous amount of the beef and cheese mixture into the center of each dough square.
  7. Fold the edges over the filling, pinching them together to seal the roll. Place rolls seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
  8. Brush the tops with melted butter (optional) and sprinkle with sesame seeds for extra flavor and crunch.
  9. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown and puffed up. Allow rolls to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Swap the mozzarella and cheddar for other cheeses like provolone, gouda, or parmesan for a different flavor.

Add jalapeños, red pepper flakes, or hot sauce to the filling for a spicy kick.

Use crescent roll dough or biscuit dough for a different texture.

For a vegetarian version, replace the ground beef with mushrooms, tempeh, or lentils.
