Description

Carrot Crescent Appetizers are a delicious and eye-catching bite-sized snack made with flaky crescent roll dough and a creamy, herbed carrot filling. Perfect for parties, brunches, or afternoon snacks, these easy appetizers combine wholesome ingredients with elegant presentation. Ready in under 45 minutes, they’re flavorful, nutritious, and incredibly simple to make!

Ingredients

1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough

2 cups grated carrots

1/2 cup cream cheese, softened

1/4 cup sour cream

1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1 tablespoon lemon juice

Optional: additional herbs for garnish

Instructions

  • Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  • Mix Filling: In a large bowl, combine grated carrots, cream cheese, sour cream, parsley, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, and lemon juice. Mix until smooth and well combined.

  • Assemble Crescents: Unroll crescent dough and separate into individual triangles. Place about 1 tablespoon of carrot filling at the wide end of each triangle. Roll up into crescent shapes, tucking ends to seal the filling.

  • Bake: Place crescents on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 15–20 minutes, or until golden brown.

  • Serve: Let cool slightly before serving. Garnish with extra parsley or your favorite fresh herbs if desired.

Notes

Add Sweetness: Stir in a drizzle of honey or maple syrup to enhance the carrot’s natural sweetness.

Add Protein: Incorporate finely chopped cooked chicken or turkey for a more filling snack.

Spice It Up: Add red pepper flakes or a pinch of cayenne to the filling for a spicy kick.

Dairy-Free: Use vegan cream cheese and sour cream for a plant-based option.
