Description
Burger Bowls offer a healthier twist on the classic burger, served in a bowl without the bun. Packed with juicy beef (or turkey), fresh veggies, creamy avocado, and a flavorful dressing, these bowls provide all the delicious flavors of a burger in a satisfying and customizable meal.
Ingredients
1 lb ground beef (or ground turkey for a lighter option)
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
Salt and pepper to taste
4 cups mixed salad greens (romaine, arugula, spinach)
1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
1 cup cucumber, diced
1/2 cup pickles, sliced
1 avocado, sliced
1/2 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your favorite)
1/4 cup mayonnaise
2 tablespoons ketchup
1 tablespoon mustard
1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
Instructions
- Prepare the Patties: In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef (or turkey), garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined, then shape into 4 patties.
- Cook the Patties: Preheat a skillet or grill over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired doneness. Remove from heat and let them rest for a few minutes.
- Make the Dressing: While the patties are resting, prepare the dressing by whisking together mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, and apple cider vinegar in a small bowl. Set aside.
- Prepare the Bowls: In 4 bowls, layer the mixed salad greens as the base.
- Assemble the Bowls: Slice the burger patties and place them on top of the salad greens in each bowl. Add the cherry tomatoes, cucumber, pickles, avocado slices, and shredded cheese.
- Dress and Serve: Drizzle the prepared dressing over each bowl and sprinkle with additional salt and pepper, if desired.
- Enjoy: Serve immediately and enjoy your delicious Burger Bowls!
Notes
Feel free to mix up the cheese, using anything from feta to mozzarella or a sharp blue cheese for extra flavor.
Customize with more veggies like red onion, bell peppers, or roasted zucchini for added variety.
For a low-carb version, skip the cheese or use a dairy-free alternative.
