Description
Brownie Cheesecake Bars are a decadent dessert featuring a fudgy brownie layer, a creamy cheesecake filling, and a chocolate ganache topped with crushed Oreos. These layered bars offer the perfect combination of chocolate and cheesecake in every bite.
Ingredients
1 box brownie mix (for a 9x13 pan)
22 Oreos, divided (16 for the brownie layer, 6 for the topping)
8 ounces cream cheese, softened
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
¼ cup granulated sugar
2 tablespoons sour cream
¼ cup chocolate chips
¼ cup heavy whipping cream
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare an 8-inch baking pan by spraying it with non-stick spray or lining it with parchment paper and then spraying the liner.
- Prepare the brownie mix according to the directions on the box. Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan. Line the top of the brownie batter with 16 Oreos, gently pressing them into the batter. Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the top is set but not fully cooked.
- In a medium bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth. Add the sour cream and sugar, mixing until well combined. Add the egg and vanilla, and mix again until everything is fully incorporated. Pour the cheesecake mixture over the top of the partially baked brownie layer and spread it to the edges.
- Bake for another 30-35 minutes, or until the edges are light brown and the middle is set. Remove from the oven and let cool for 30 minutes.
- In a small saucepan, heat the chocolate chips and heavy cream over medium heat. Stir constantly until the chocolate chips are completely melted and the mixture is smooth. Remove from heat once fully combined.
- Spoon the chocolate ganache evenly over the cooled cheesecake layer. Crush the remaining 6 Oreos and sprinkle them over the top for an extra crunch and burst of Oreo flavor.
- Refrigerate the bars for at least 2 hours to allow everything to set. Once chilled, cut into squares and serve.
Notes
For a nutty version, add chopped pecans or walnuts to the brownie batter.
Drizzle caramel sauce over the ganache for a sweet contrast to the chocolate.
For a no-bake option, use no-bake cheesecake filling, but be sure to let it set in the fridge for several hours.
