Ingredients
- For the Beef Base:
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 2 tbsp Thousand Island dressing
- 2 tbsp mayo
- 1/2 cup diced yellow onion
- 1/2 cup diced dill pickle
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- For the Casserole:
- 2 cups shredded triple cheddar cheese
- 1 bag frozen tater tots
- For the Topping:
- 1 cup shredded iceberg lettuce
- Additional Thousand Island dressing for drizzling
Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Set the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Cook the Beef: In a large sauté pan, cook the ground beef with a dab of margarine or butter over medium-high heat, crumbling the beef as it cooks. Once cooked, drain excess grease.
- Prepare the Big Mac Sauce: Add Thousand Island dressing, mayo, diced onion, diced dill pickle, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper to the cooked beef. Stir to combine.
- Assemble the Casserole: Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish. Spread the beef mixture evenly across the bottom. Top with shredded cheddar cheese.
- Add the Tater Tots: Arrange frozen tater tots in a single layer on top of the cheese.
- Bake: Place the casserole in the oven and bake for 40-45 minutes until the tater tots are golden brown and crispy.
- Add the Topping: Remove the casserole from the oven, sprinkle shredded lettuce on top, and drizzle with additional Thousand Island dressing.
- Serve: Scoop out servings and enjoy!
